January's First Friday Art Stroll

For January’s Art Stroll, Art Box is privileged to feature poet Liz Cala in an exhibit — See the Light — honoring her brother, Brett Cala, on the 10th anniversary of his passing. The exhibit will showcase the beautiful and thought-provoking photography of Brett (adept at capturing intimate moments on his many world travels), accompanied by the equally intimate personal writings of Liz.  This exhibit is one of beauty, light and grace, and also an endeavor to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

Message from Liz:

See the Light

Brett Cala was an exemplary person who dedicated his life exploring, learning and capturing the light of others through his lens.  The photography Brett created not only depicted the essence of his subject, it reflected the light from within himself.

If then, we are what we see, our individual responsibility within our shared humanity is the empathy we become.

Ignite your bravery, and see the light.

Thank you to Deanna & Judy at Art Box for their compassion and support in presenting this exhibit, to Beehive Company for providing the accompaniments, and to the Utah Chapter of AFSP for fundraising materials.
